Lately I have been receiving at least 4 phone calls or emails a week from people who want me to tell my network about their gig or let them speak at a ByzHub meetup.  50% are people I have met and 50% are strangers.

People who ‘complain’ bug me, for example I’m so busy I don’t know what to do? My house is too hot… I have a customer that is driving me crazy,  I don’t have enough staff…

My response to these kinds of issues is…WHOA! Hold up, there are good problems and bad problems, be grateful that you have a good problem.

I will say right off the top that receiving 4 calls a week is a GOOD problem, I just have to learn how to handle them, when I do I will write another post.

I think about those whom I support and why…

1st and foremost you need to have a genuine interest in what they do, in my case if you want me to hire you or you want me to introduce you to my network and you haven’t even taken 5 minutes to create a FREE profile on ByzHub.com What do you think I’m thinking?

I cannot tell you how many business coaches have tried to get me to use them at $2500 a month and are still not supporting me…(no profile on ByzHub.com)

They all missed out because I do have a business coach now and the coach I’m using had a real interest in what I’m doing.  The coach I am using didn’t try to sell me but has always supported me and kept in touch and kept giving.  It was probably a 6 month process on his part.

Did this pay off for him? Well ByzHub sponsored an event his coaching firm (Action Coach) had in Vancouver.  We ended up breaking the global record for most attendees by a single sponsor and out of that Coach Kyle got 78 quality leads whom he has to follow up with now.

With a closing rate of 10% that says 7 – 8 will become clients…7 X $2500 a month is not a bad monthly income.  Remember it was a 6 month process, again did it pay off?

Be interested in what your prospect does, you can not fake this, we will see right through you.

Next there also needs to be some chemistry.  Steven Lin from 2QCreations was one of the 1st people outside of my web developer that I started working with.  Steven is a similar age, has 2 kids whom are within a few years of my kids, so there were some instant connections.

The amount of time he spent brainstorming with me before we even moved forward was awesome.  Now Steven and 2QCreations basically do all ByzHub’s external branding.  2QCreations is the parent company of Ivatar.

Matt Astifan aka Matts Media from Web Friendly is always giving me feedback about ByzHub and I love it.  How else am I going to improve things, I need feedback and yet so few people give it and Is it because you think you are being negative?

You can give feedback in a nice way you don’t have to be mean about it.  Are you an entrepreneur? You’re always thinking to yourself about how you can improve.  What faster way then to hear it from an outsider.  If you have feedback you will be praised for taking the time to donate it…

Matt has also invited me to participate in his Social Media Workshops.  Now that I have been able to touch, feel, see, hear, smell (Hint: the more senses you can get someone to use, the better chance you have of winning them over) who do you think I recommend when people ask me about social media training?

Owen Greaves from Owen Greaves Consulting is a big supporter and he is a futurist, he called me the other day to ask permission if he could talk about ByzHub at the next futurist convention being held in Vancouver BC next July, talk about planning a head.  Our instant connection was that we both have the same name and not many our age do, beyond that our friendship has continued to grow.  Owen was ByzHub’s guest speaker for our August meetup.

• Show Genuine interest in what the other person is doing
• There has to be some chemistry (learn people skills)
• Support Support Support
• Build relationships
