QR CODES – 5 Quick Tips

A couple of quick tips
  1. Be creative
  2. Do not regurgitate information (If you print a QR on your business card take note of tip #1)
  3. It MUST be a mobile friendly destination – Mobile Devices scan them.
  4. Have a call to action
  5. QR Codes are links, make sure you have control of the page you have pointed the QR Code to.  e.g. Don’t point a QR Code to YouTube, point the QR Code to your blog where you can embed and change the video whenever you want.

A QR code is: A specific matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code), readable by dedicated QR barcode readers and camera phones. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. The information encoded can be text, URL or other data.

A QR reader is required on your phone in order scan them.  Go to your App icon on your phone and search QR Reader.
