A leader with no followers is only on a walk.
1. Follow others and they will follow you back, this strategy works on all platforms
2. Add Value and people will follow you, use an Inbound Marketing strategy to do this.
3. Facebook Friends, if you are actively meeting people and networking this happens by osmosis, I think of facebook like a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool but instead it’s an FRM (Friend Relationship Management) tool
4. Whenever I accept a friend request on facebook I write a personal note on their wall thanking them and I let them know about my business/fan page, if they choose they can go and like it, I will never ask them again to like my fan page.
5. On LinkedIn every new connections gets a personal note, I have a script with the guts of what I want to say and I add something relevant and personal. The script drives people to my web page.
6. Engage – without doubt whomever you engage will follow you.
7. On ByzHub click the profiles tab and businesses are sorted by distance from you. Add and reach out to businesses in your neighborhood.
