Could Pinterest Hold You Accountable?
November 17th, 2011 was a dark rainy night, I had driven around the block several times for parking and was ready to give up. I found a spot about 4 blocks away and I remember flipping my collar up and crunching my neck so the rain and wind would stay out of my jacket as I walked the edge of Stanley Park. I had committed to being at a “Bliss Party” put on by my friend Toby Shnoor who is a life coach.
I new the agenda was to create a Vision Board. Cameron Herold talks about them in his book Double Double. Build yourself a Dream Board. In short we are setting goals with pictures.
There were about 15 of us and we were all handed a 3X3 cardboard to make our boards with. There were scissors, glue sticks, and 100′s of magazines. For the next 3 hours we flipped, chatted, cut and glued our pictures on our Vision boards. The end result was a unique board that each of us had made with what inspired us.
It’s interesting to look back at it. As you can see getting in shape was on my list.
In the last 70 days I have set the foundation to be in as good a shape as I have ever been in my life.
I’m certainly not an early adopter on Pinterest, when I joined last week I had 230 facebook friends who were already using the social platform. Pinterest is a very cool site and it reminded me of creating my vision board.
Pictures tell stories, Pinterest does this better then anyone online.
How have you used Pinterest? What are your thoughts about another social platform?
