How To Add The Google +1 Button To Your Website
A month ago I wrote a post “If You Are Friendly With Google, Is Google Friendly back?” Today I want to show you how to add the Google +1 button to your website or blog. Similar to the Facebook LIKE button the +1 button is a way for viewers to give you their thumbs up publicly.
This video explains the Google +1 button very well.
Adding the +1 button is fairly straightforward. Go to the developers page on Google don’t worry everything on this page is Greek to me too. All you need to know is how to copy text. The next thing you need to know is how to get into the back end of your website / blog and paste the code in the appropriate spot.
The nice thing about the +1 and LIKE buttons is that they do not drive traffic away from your site. Try it for yourself. My buttons are both on the left column of my blog now. You can even add a subscribe button for your YouTube Channel too.
Google basically says the +1 button will affect your website’s performance and as you saw in the video above +1′s do come up in Google searches. If I was a betting man and I am not I would bet the more +1′s you have = Google will LIKE you a little better.
What do you think?
