Working For Free Is Bad!

Working for free

WHY are you working for free or close to it? If you don’t value the work you do your customers won’t value you either!

The answer I here most often is…“I’m working for free to get more experience or to build my knowledge!”

Do YOU have more experience or knowledge than the person you are doing work for? “YES” …then, ask to be paid market value for your services. STOP working for free!

If you are going to volunteer your time to build your knowledge and experience then volunteer for an organization that could truly benefit from your expertise, (i.e. the United Way, Big Brothers/Sisters, Children’s Hospital etc) Not only will they truly be grateful for your efforts, you may meet some great people who may actually pay you in the future.

Rates ,… Asking For More Money

Rates depend on many things. When I started my business as a Business COACH there was no pricing model for me to follow.

I asked around to find out what other coaches were charging and to be honest I was completely shocked by my findings. Coaches were charging clients anywhere from $300 -$3000 or more per month for an hour a week of coaching 4 times a month.

That is a pretty big spread in my mind and the main difference between a $300 per month coach and $3000 per month is coaches who have systems and confidence to ask for more make more! Continue Reading

Online Niche Marketing; Find a Golden Nugget In A Haystack

Online Niche Marketing

Online Niche Marketing (Part 1 of a 3 part post)

The reason why I didn’t use the word “needle” is because a needle in a haystack just seems to daunting a task.  Online niche marketing, particularly, the critical step that involves finding a niche market, just shouldn’t be that difficult.

Online Niche Marketing

Let me break down a few things first:

A niche market is; A group of people who are actively searching (online) for solution to a problem, while not finding too many relevant results.  In other words; A healthy demand in relation to supply.  A thing to remember, the supply is your competition, and competition isn’t a bad thing as long as there isn’t too much (more on this later).

The golden nugget is; Continue Reading

Create Your Own Career

There is too much pressure when it comes to getting into the “right career” early on. There really isn’t a right career or a wrong one to get into. Don’t be afraid to try different careers to get a taste of what’s out there and explore. You’ll then get to find out firsthand what kind of career you really want to get into and specialize in.

Action Plans Are Executed Best When…

Action Plan

What is Your Action Plan?

A good action plan violently executed now is better than a perfect action plan executed next week: George S. Patton

Steve Jobs is quoted as saying that “often people have the disease of thinking that a really Action Plangreat idea or plan is 90% of the work.”  If that was the case then surely it’s the “idea” of the tablet or the Smartphone that revolutionized the industry. However while there are many tablets in the marketplace there can be no doubt that the one with the best execution, the iPad is the overwhelming winner! No wonder companies attempt to copy Apple’s product execution and yet because they can’t, FAIL!

Derek Siver nailed this when he wrote:

Ideas are worth nothing unless executed. They are just a multiplier. Execution is worth millions.

Explanation:

AWFUL IDEA = -1
WEAK IDEA = 1
SO-SO IDEA = 5
GOOD IDEA = 10
GREAT IDEA = 15
BRILLIANT IDEA = 20

NO EXECUTION = $1
WEAK EXECUTION = $1000
SO-SO EXECUTION = $10,000
GOOD EXECUTION = $100,000
GREAT EXECUTION = $1,000,000
BRILLIANT EXECUTION = $10,000,000

To make a business, you need to multiply the two.

  • The most brilliant idea, with no execution, is worth $20.
  • The most brilliant idea takes great execution to be worth $20,000,000.
  • That’s why I don’t want to hear people’s ideas.
  • I’m not interested until I see their execution.

What was the Vision you had for the business when you first started out – how far away from achieving it are you…? If you still have a ways to go, is that because of your idea or your execution?

Success How Do You Breed It?

In order to have success “YOU MUST BELIEVE” it is possible. I help breed that thought process with my family, friends and clients. I BELIEVE in them, in many cases when they don’t believe in themselves. Continue Reading
